Tableau Prep is a game-changing tool for anyone who spends hours cleaning and organizing data manually in Excel. Instead of repeating the same steps each day, Prep allows you to create an automated workflow that can be reused over and over again — saving you time and effort.

With its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, Tableau Prep makes data cleansing simple, even for those without technical skills. You’ll learn how to handle common problems like missing fields, incorrect data types, and inconsistent formatting — all in a visual and easy-to-understand environment.

Prep also comes packed with heaps of connectors, allowing you to pull data from databases, spreadsheets, and cloud platforms. As you build your flow, you’ll visualize each transformation step clearly, making it perfect for data exploration and troubleshooting.

If you're still cleaning data manually, this course will help you transform your workflow and become significantly more efficient — so you can spend more time analyzing and less time preparing.

What is Tableau Prep?

Visualization in the real world is always fun when you have clean data to work with. However, this is usually not the case.

Tableau Prep is a visual way to clean and prepare data that is far more efficient than standard Excel methods saving you heaps of time and automating your workflows.

Complete View of your Data

The intuitive interface gives you a complete view of your data making it easier to make data cleansing decisions.

You can clean data in seconds compared to Excel as many standard cleaning operations we perform as analysts are built in.

Instant Results

As you clean, the data updates instantly so you can see the impact of your changes. You can go back and forth, undo and redo and reorganize steps as you wish.

It's ultimately flexibility in a world where the data is constantly changing.

Test Each Step in Tableau Desktop

What better tool to use to assess your data than Tableau Desktop. In one click, you can preview the data at that individual step to ensure things are working correctly.
