I didn’t begin in data. I came from an Aerospace Engineering background. I understood math — but data, programming, databases, and visualization? I knew absolutely nothing. When I decided to move into analytics, I started at zero — no roadmap, no mentors, no clear direction.

I didn’t have friends in the industry. I was figuring everything out alone, jumping between random resources, making mistakes, and learning things the hard way. It took me over 10 years to truly establish myself in the field.

Today, I’m a Senior Data Analyst earning close to $200K AUD per year. That didn’t happen by accident. It came from hard work, structured skill-building, and guidance from others.
